As part of the GemGenève 2025 gouache competition, each 3rd-year jewellery student from the CFP Arts Genève, the ETVJ and the CPNE - Pôle Arts Appliqués was invited to design a piece of jewellery on the theme of FRONTIERE.
They were free to be creative in terms of materials and the type of jewellery they imagined. Their only constraint was to incorporate the stone they had each received as a gift from Maison Abouchar SA.
The Eric Horovitz Foundation jury awarded the Prix Coup de Cœur de la Fondation to Izar Galdo Cebrecos for her creation.
The CFP Arts Genève student drew her inspiration from the sinuous and contrasting form of barbed wire, whose elegant yet aggressive curves echo with strength. For her earrings, she reinterprets this duality into a fluid piece that gently follows the contour of the ear.
Through a play of fine volumes and taut lines, the gouache rendering reflects a subtle harmony between strength and delicacy, evoking both protection and adornment.
